Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the multitude of decisions you face daily? Our minds are constantly bombarded with choices, leading to what the Dutch call "keuzestress," or the stress of choice.
The pressure to choose can be exhausting, from selecting groceries in a supermarket to making life-altering decisions. This stress extends to health choices, such as navigating the vast amount of health information available. The constant need to make the "right" choice adds unnecessary pressure to self-care.
I propose a different approach to decision-making—one that focuses on listening to your body and what feels right for you. For instance, if you crave something unhealthy, your body may be signaling a need. I've found balance by eating a variety of foods in moderation and paying attention to how my body reacts.
Does life control you or do you control life?
This principle applies to all aspects of life. Pay attention to what feels right for you rather than succumbing to external pressures. By following your instincts and trusting yourself, you can significantly reduce stress.
Every moment presents a choice—from thoughts to actions. Being mindful of your body's signals can help you make decisions that align with your well-being. When you feel overwhelmed, take a moment to breathe deeply and reset. Recognizing these moments and taking time to center yourself can lead to a more balanced life.
Remember, not every decision carries equal weight. Being late or making a mistake doesn't define your worth. Understanding your needs and desires helps build confidence and reduces stress.
Social media and external influences can cloud our judgment. Take breaks from technology, unfollow negative influences, and surround yourself with positivity and inspiration.
Make a conscious effort to prioritize what matters most to you. Create a daily plan that includes activities that bring you joy and relaxation. Finding this balance can lead to a more fulfilling life.
When it comes to choices like what to wear or what to buy, prioritize comfort and personal preference over trends or external opinions. Trust your intuition – it's often right.
Avoid the trap of constantly wanting more. Be content with what you have, reduce unnecessary consumption, and appreciate what you already possess. Be grateful for your body, (isn’t amazing how hard it works for you, treat it nicely), home, work, friends, nature look, listen, feel & smel it, etc etc…
Making lists can be a helpful tool in making decisions. You can gather information, weigh options, and make choices that align with your values and preferences.
Ultimately, trust yourself and your instincts.
You are already the best version of yourself. Embrace your uniqueness and make choices that honor who you are. we all encounter Stress is, but how you respond to it is within your control. Do your breathing exercise, “be in the moment”, out of your head into your body exercises, do the work, you got this. play with life. Laugh at yourself, you are doing great.
Remember, it's okay to revisit decisions and make changes. Allow yourself the freedom to evolve and grow. Stay present, stay mindful, and trust that everything is already okay.

It's important not to take everything too seriously and to remember that everything is well in this moment. Focus on what you can control, and let go of everything else. Ask yourself, 'How am I?' and recognize, 'I am okay; now I'm calm; now I'm happy.'"
Being present in the here and now is always good. How nice is that?!
