THE MAN IN THE ARENA
This quote from Theodore Roosevelt inspired me and gave me the courage to go on stage to share my story with others. It inspired me to get into the arena…
I am happy…but that hasn’t always been the case.
Before taking the stage, I declared, "Allow me to begin by stating that in my eyes, I deserve a medal already. So, if there's any concern about whether I'll do well, you can breathe easy and relax. Even if I don't meet expectations, I'll award myself a medal simply for having the courage to stand before you today."
Stepping into the arena, I felt a mix of fear and courage. Despite feeling vulnerable, I believed in the potential benefits for others. Stepping into the arena means subjecting oneself to judgment and vulnerability, even facing the possibility of being attacked with stones, as indeed happened. As I always say, "Whatever happens in life, how you respond to it will determine what your life will look like." Thank God there was also a lot of praise, tears, and pride from my family that I dared to do this, making me the scared, insecure little girl I once was.
Nevertheless, I persevere, keeping my head held high. My motivation stems from a belief in the power of sharing and multiplying. By sharing my story and my book, I aim to inspire others not to give up, encouraging them to take action and shift from their minds to their hearts, gradually building self-belief, self-love, and self-worth that will lead them to a happier life, as I have. Because that’s what I want for everybody!
Here are five lessons in failure that I've learned from John Prather, who says that a quote from a Roosevelt speech inspired him to fail:
It’s not the critic who counts.
There is no effort without error and shortcomings.
Spend yourself in a worthy cause.
Fail while daring greatly.
Don’t be a cold and timid soul.
In my new book, MY JOURNAL, which is available worldwide, I help you create a plan to start the awareness process and master your thoughts. Don’t settle for a mediocre life! Get off the sidelines and ask yourself: Are you afraid to fail? Are you overthinking? Are you comparing yourself to others? Do you have insecure thoughts about yourself? My guide will take you on a journey of self-awareness—the destination: Happiness. It is a personal roadmap for your soul!
So go, while daring greatly!
Love,
Maggie
